LonWorks Communications Solutions Repeaters, Gateways, Routers and I/O

The CNS Digital 8 I/O unit is a LonWorks node that enables un-intelligent non-communicating plant and equipment to be brought into the intelligent and communicating world of LonWorks. It is a highly flexible building block of control, which can be programmed by the user or configured by the user using an LNS Plug-in.

As the market for LonWorks products expands, there is much legacy equipment that needs to be integrated with a LonWorks network. This product allows the creation of a custom gateway for the users own requirements. Creating the custom firmware involves decoding the serial protocol and converting it to LonWorks messages both custom and standard types. The core of this product is the CNSDV03U module which provides a highly flexible and high performance neuron based node.

The CNS LonWireless radio transceiver and node provides a simple, cost-effective way of adding Echelon's LonWorks technology to any control system where local conditions make an RF solution ideal for network communications.

These CNS SMX Router products team Echelon's RTR-10 router with a pair of either SMX format or standard transceivers to allow users to quickly implement complete LonWorks routers. The Router is an integrated device that connects two communication channels and routes LonTalk messages between them. Routers enable the installation of networks with multiple channels and from two to thousands of nodes.

The DIN router shares the same RTR-10 core technology as the CNS RTRC-SMX Routers (see CNS RTRCSMX Datasheet or CNS Routers Guide). However, this product has the transceivers mounted directly.

The router implements the full set of LonWorks® router functions: Configured Router, Learning Router, Bridge or Repeater. It connects LonWorks twisted pair copper networks to LonWorks fibre optic networks, or extends twisted pair networks over long distances or through harsh environments.

The Fibre Ethernet Ring Network Adapter provides the ability to connect any Ethernet (IEE802.3) 10/100 Mbps device to a Control-By-Light™ 10 Mbps single-fibre fibre optic ring network. The fibre ring provides fault-tolerant interconnectivity for 50 or more network devices, depending upon network traffic loads.

The Router is intended to be used in Building Automation and Industrial environments. It can give internet access to the buildings automation network as well as remote access from the outside.
